Archive for February, 2009

The people have spoken (well, a few of you anyway) and it’s looking like Sunday, March 1st is the most popular date.

So bring the bike, drive the car, take the bus or ride your horse over to Squirly’s for 2 p.m. and we’ll get caught up and plan some summer fun.

Hoping to get a decent turnout on Sunday, who’s planning on coming?

Oh, and if you’re in need of Tomos parts, here’s some for sale on Craigslist.

She’s a beaut! Again, a little steeply priced in my opinion, but I have always wanted one of these…

I’ve heard that the poll I linked to was crap. Here’s another go at it:

Found this on Craigslist yesterday. At $2,000, it’s too rich for my blood, but she sure is pretty!

Edit Feb 18 - and she’s gone! Or at least the ad is.

So I’ve finally come out of moped hibernation. Last summer was a write-off. My mother was diagnosed with cancer in April, so I spent all my time with her until she passed away in September. As much as I would have liked to get out there and ride more, it really wasn’t at the top of my priority list.

BUT… spring is coming and I’m ready to ride. I think this year we’ll make a comeback in style. Stan and myself (and as many of you who want to brave it) are going to start preparing for The Mad Bastard Rally. It’ll be an 850 km ride, and we’ll have 24 hours to complete it. Crazy? Yes. Awesome. Definitely.

So let’s get together. Whether you want to ride the Mad Bastard or not let’s get together and plan some good times for the summer. Here’s a handy poll so there’s no bickering. Poll closes on Feb 28th, so vote on a time that works for you and let’s do it!

For some reason I can’t seem to embed the poll, so go here to pick your date.

Oh, and I made us a fancy new website. I’m still tweaking it but I think it’ll be a lot better than the old one. You can all still post, just let me know what you want your username to be and I’ll email you your password. You’ll be able to log on from the homepage shortly. Oh, and if you want a yourname@royalcanadianmopeds.com email address, just let me know.
